Аннотация

Seismic amplitude inversion by a new HRS Geo high-resolution technology is applied to detect buried paleoriver systems (incised valleys) which are petroleum prospective geological features. The method of detecting buried river systems by high-resolution seismic data requires updating. The suggested special workflow for data processing ensures amplitude preservation and high-quality acoustic inversion at a sampling interval of seismic time data in the form of 2D sections or 3D cubes of effective reflection coefficients (ERC) and effective acoustic impedance (AI). Examples are provided showing that the new method can resolve incised paleo-rivers (paleocuts) and their sedimentary fill which otherwise can easily be mistaken in complex wavefields for other prospects not related to real geological structures.
